Perhaps you say "herd immunity" and just let it rip through America. However, your action (or in this case inaction) is copied by other leading nations as they end up taking your response & incorporating it into their own strategy. Other countries say: "Let's wait & see what the Americans do" This isn't chicken pox, where you get through it & are home free for life. If you allow restaurants, hotels, airlines, cruises, concerts, arenas to remain packed then the entire country becomes sick together within one month. Suddenly your memory of how bad covid was begins to play out 10x worse in this new reality as there are dead bodies being stacked outside of hospitals. However even though a huge amount of people got sick & significantly more people died in this reality, after 3-4 weeks a minor wave of the remaining people that dodged the first wave get sick but the next 6 months are uneventful as everybody has the antibodies in their system. Some nations did do lockdowns & suffered significantly less death and people are starting to blame YOU for your incorrect decision leading to people dying that didn't have to. Stronger & deadlier variants emerge as you never imposed a nationwide mask mandate & you never gave therapeutic options to reduce the severity of Covid. The "let nature take its course" is proving to be reckless & you begin to question yourself by asking: "I remember covid being so weak in 2023/2024, I forgot how much this thing sucked in 2020!?" |

Then distribute them to hospitals ensuring none are hoarded or remain unused during the first month. I would repurpose warehouses & factories to begin mass producing N95 multi-layered masks & attempt to produce 1.4 billion masks every month. I would figure out a way to distribute one mask per man/woman/child across America every week & share plans with other nations so that they could do the same. Very quickly from the start, I would seek funding to develop/test/produce a prototype N100 mask with an exhaust valve that has a usb-c rechargeable battery that loops around your neck - this is reusable and one is sent to every person in the USA. This introduces fresh air by a quiet motor making breathing extra easy & no fogged glasses. A simple & dirt cheap replaceable pouch in the front would be the end-goal where everybody would need a fresh N100 mask component weekly & eventually daily as costs/complexity gets smaller through mass production. A simple 4inch by 4inch universal square is the replaceable N100 component in this motorized mask greatly reducing the replacement parts as everybody needs the exact same piece. Because its government provided, there are no cheap knockoffs or counterfeit parts. When addressing the nation & explaining what covid-19 is, I would not use suggestive and "hopeful" phrasing. I think the American people are idiots but I wouldn't let them know that by shutting down businesses & then promising the public that covid will likely be gone by Easter at the latest. Clearly shutting down businesses nationwide is an extreme measure meant for a long lasting threat. If old ladies feel scared let them seek comfort from church but not mislead by the national leader. I would consult experts to "teach" the american public on the proper way to wear a face mask or cloth covering. Where do you place the single or dual bands behind the head for the mask? What if you have a beard? I would have people show others on camera how to effective wear a mask. Encourage news networks to teach their viewers how to properly wear a mask. How to check for gaps along the sides so that it remains effective. From the start I would teach correct & proper mask wearing procedures to the entire nation. Healthcare workers get taught how to wear a mask, but in our reality the general public never did. I would require businesses such as Walmart/Target/Safeway/Amazon to offer "face mask specialists" to educate their employees on how to wear masks properly & eventually ensure that customers shopping everywhere were wearing masks properly so that they remain effective. I would construct a collection of easy to comprehend information about healthy eating habits & drinking for the American public. I would encourage everybody to review the very basics of staying healthy such as getting your key & core nutrition and how helpful that is in maintaining a healthy immune system. The untold benefits far extend beyond the body's natural defense system! I would confuse the fuck out of every late night host & comedian by acting humble & reserved while on camera in the body of Donald Trump. Kind of hard to make fun of somebody who's not inlove with himself, is suddenly acting with compassion & respect for others & doesn't have a desire for attention! Could care less about favoritism or re-election, just wants what's best for American & humanity. Trump acting this way would be too odd to imagine. With universal head conforming motorized masks, breathing is easy & my mask education on camera followed up with in-store classes ensures a proper fit for everybody. Because it's so easy to breathe, people don't make attempts to avoid wearing it properly or skip wearing it. True the virus can still enter through the mucous membrane inside the eyeball, however with nearly every particulate being filtered through the 370 million N100 masks, the pandemic & related strains afterwards fade away at a rapid rate. Possibly even more exciting, the nation is equipped for future airborne threats & the education to follow through! Trillions of dollars were saved & the drug companies are pissed because they almost had countless opportunities for profit. |

I wouldn't have many Federal policies/orders. Health should be a state/county issue. I would advise my cabinet to work with State officials and provide State officials the resources they need. The only possible action I would take at the Federal level would be ingress and egress of people in and out of the country. That is a role firmly placed with the Federal government, IMO. I would advise people to limit contact and listen to their State and County health officials. I would leave shutdowns to the local and State level officials. -- One of the issues we had in Illinois early on was that decisions were being made from Chicago. If the transmission rate was high in Chicago, our governor was shutting everything down. About half way through they started to regionalize the state relying on local health directors in those counties to make the decision. This worked much better and minimized shut downs. No, I wouldn't eat at KFC. possibly Taco Bell but not a huge fan of KFC. |

I had visited California in the fall of 2021 for a week & it was so strange. Near Irvine some zipcodes had so many precautions due to covid-19, masks absolutely required everywhere no exceptions. 5minute drive away just a few miles over in another zipcode & no masking needed anywhere, no restrictions on how many people can be inside a building or store there too. Was so bizzare setting up such polar opposite policies so close, as if cars don't exist. |

The Regional approach in Illinois spanned vast geographical areas. Don't quote me but I think the State was split up into 6 regions. It seemed to work better as I had more trust in the local Medical director down the street, who was working in the hospital than I did a politician sitting in Chicago. I tend to listen to my local doctors :) |

There's a cringe video of me wearing a mask outside around May 2020 at a BBQ. The funny thing is that there is another person the video not wearing a mask who got vaccinated and almost got blinded in one eye from the vaccine while I on the other hand did not. I would have done what Pock mentioned given that health issues are usually state issues. It's all such a blur, 2020 was such a crazy year. Hell, are they even keeping track of Covid cases anymore? It's like Covid went from being a thing from 2020-a good part of 2022. I think the "official" end of the Covid hysteria came with the of Biden's vaccine travel mandate for non-citizen travel to the US back in May 2023. At a certain point before that, though, it sort of became clear that they were making a mountain out of a molehill. Once it became clear that the mortality rate was close to zero for people under 30 it was time to open the schools. I would have given more leeway for off-label use of various prescription drugs for those who needed it. There were some governors that sanctioned doctors using off-label use for drugs like hydroxychloroquine for covid. Israel, where I live, went totally typical neurotic Jew when it came to Covid. At a certain point, you needed a negative covid test to board the flight, then take a mandatory covid test when you landed at the airport (nice little tax farming scheme there), and then either be under quarantine for two-weeks or take a 3rd covid check a week later and if that came back negative you could break quarantine. I remember being in the car in the drive through line at a parking lot in a soccer stadium where they were doing the mass testing. Two hours... wow do I feel like a choad falling for that. The Arab lady pretty much swabbed my brainstem with the q-tip who administered my test "take that you Zionist kike bastard" she probably thought to herself with as she did that to every Jew that came for the test. I'm surprised there weren't mass riots from road rage trying to merge on to the road leading to the testing site let alone waiting for it. |
