Eclipse date - April 8th Path of totality: https://cms.accuweather.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/2024-... Shade 14 or above welding glass will let you watch safely. I've used 2 x 10 shade stacked together in the past, works fine, just a bit dimmer. Local hardware places may carry it. Internet option: https://phillips-safety.com/product-category/safety-glasses/... |

Buy glasses ahead of time online that blockout 99% of the light. Sunglasses are NOT good enough. Plenty of cheap paper/plastic glasses made for this purpose online. While I was looking up feeling connected with the universe & was shocked at that incredibly rare opportunity to witness such an event years ago. Some people next to me that were not prepared were staring at cardboard paper on the ground or whatever retarded contraption people do when they don't have a safe method of looking up. The sky getting all dark suddenly in the daytime was epic too, look at the horizon in every direction! It truly would have sucked to not having had the ability to actually look at it though. Don't burn your retinas or go blind looking without protection, lots of people will do just that sadly. Take the effort to figure out if a few hours drive will extend the eclipse length for you too. The shadow of the moon will move very fast. |

[IOD]SnipsSuper Regular Speed Sniping Master P: 03/19/2024 03:16 | Eclipse on April 8th is going to be either a Sunday or Moonday. Boo boo I'm happy you are totality going to see it! Why didn't the sun go to college? Because it already had a million degrees Did you hear about the new restaurant on the moon? The food is great, but there's just no atmosphere I'd share more but I ran out of popsicle sticks with bad humor printed on them. |

BackalleybuttloveSuper Regular Crack-Powered Capper P: 03/20/2024 15:45 | It's funny, I never get around to getting eclipse glasses until an eclipse is announced and there isn't enough time what with the shipping to get them. What are these 10 shades you speak of? Are they like a visor for a welder's mask? |
[IOD]SnipsSuper Regular Speed Sniping Master P: 03/20/2024 16:48 | You can buy 25 cent paper glasses with super dark plastic they markup for $5 or $10, or buy more professional products like sunglasses that have specially made ultra tinted glasses for this purpose. But they're specifically eclipse glasses. Just get them on amazon so the delivery is fast. Lots of FAKE counterfeit glasses out there too. The big danger is you must inspect the glasses completely for bent/damaged plastic, or any punctures or holes of any sort on the lense or plastic sheeting. When you wear them outside typically everything is just too black to see anything except for the sun, it just appears like a dimmed moon as the special ISO 12312-2 international safety standard is removing so much light & all the harmful UV & infrared rays. Sadly there's going to be kids, teenagers & adults accidently sitting on cheap paper glasses, where the 1st time they put them on is during the event & if they're torn or damaged they could go blind as a result if the focused light breaks through that shielding & enters the retina of your eye. Some optometry offices are giving out free solar eclipse glasses. And from time magazine a quote below stating some libraries in the USA are giving out free glasses! The STAR Library Network is distributing five million eclipse glasses to more than 13,000 U.S. public libraries, according to the AAS. Interested patrons should check with their local library to see if they received any free pairs, and may also check possible locations with this map. |
[IOD]SnipsSuper Regular Speed Sniping Master P: 03/20/2024 17:14 | Not sure if this news map is correct, but weaker coverage is visible everywhere across the usa. But you have to be in that direct eclipse path to really see the totality which is the ultimate experience as this is the actual moon's shadow. And again you need the specifically made glasses to safely witness it when looking up. https://images.wral.com/asset/news/local/2024/01/11/21231640... Websites such as this are a good starting point when looking up maps for your state: https://nationaleclipse.com/maps.html But ultimately go here & hover over "2024 TOTAL" at the top of the website and highlight the US State you live in to see the detailed eclipse duration to pinpoint the precise dead center of the moon's shadow. https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/new-york-2024-eclipse Here is a very specific time duration map for NY's eclipse. As you can see, the very limit border of the direct path will last only 90 seconds, however dead center just 30-120 minute drive away and the event lasts nearly 4minutes! Expect most highways & freeways to be super fucking jammed on that date, plan ahead & identify the dead center of the moon's shadow if you're lucky to live in a state this will be in. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/53c358b6e4b01b... |
[IOD]SnipsSuper Regular Speed Sniping Master P: 03/20/2024 17:16 | So you missed the 2024 eclipse or couldn't be bothered to drive for a few hours? The next totality eclipse across America will be in 2045 & 2099 from coast to coast. This picture shows every total solar eclipses in the 21st century across the USA https://api.time.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/21stcenturyn... |

What are these 10 shades you speak of? Are they like a visor for a welder's mask? Shade is just the measure of opacity, higher numbers meaning darker glass. Different shade levels apply to different tasks, depending on the level of light radiation. For a solar eclipse, shade 14 is considered the minimum. |

I didn't realize the damage might not show up until many months later. My heart goes out to the teenagers & kids who are about to suffer lifelong damage next month. There's absolutely going to be people with typical sunglasses that will say "meh, good enough" and will look up. If any of you have kids going with you to see this event, use extreme caution. Pets can get eye damage too. short clip ABC News Solar Eclipse - Eye damage can show later https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKWJepxrbPA Some 1min clips with people that lost some or all eyesight from eclipses in the 60's or 70's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwYNP9jwMf0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liD1Z4mpjbk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bxkZaiHQ0w |

One home goes for about $600 to $800 per night, $1,600 holidays, but the night of the eclipse it’s rented for $5k |

Pretty exciting anyway! I was in the UK for the 1999 eclipse. Had ~99% coverage at my location just north of London. It got quite dark but what I remember most is the silence. The birds that had been chirping away a minute earlier just stopped. A minute or three later and they were back at it. Quite a cool experience. |

However, I'm looking into what needs to be done to turn my own four unit into an AirBNB. Won't be this year. But through my job I have access to financial statements of AirBNB/VRBO homes through the state. 44 in my portfolio, about a thousand in the state we manage, roughly. But yeah, pretty sure I won't have to work if I have a successful four unit AirBNB up and running, looking at the numbers from similar homes. If that's successful, then yeah, the plan is more homes more growth, Trump watch out. My goal is to have more money than Matt. |
